Learn how to bake Pastel de Nata with a 5th generation pastry chef from Portugal

I am a Lisbon based pastry chef and bakery owner who’s eager to bring the sweetest side of Portugal to you and your team!

We have welcomed hundreds of baking enthusiasts in Lisbon. Now, virtually, I will share with you all the steps so that you can enjoy Pastel de Nata at home. These are the popular Portuguese Custard Tarts, also known in some parts of the world as Egg Tarts.

We will use staple ingredients and break down the recipe into easy to follow steps. We will make puff pastry from scratch and demystify the process. But if you rather keep it simple, we will also show you how to make the most of store-bought pastry. We will share all the pro tricks to make bakery level Pastel de Nata at home. After you and your team sign up for this virtual team-building experience, I will send you a detailed list of ingredients so that you prepare everything for the class.

Gather your team and let’s hang out virtually, bake together and have a great time! Not only we will cook together, we will also sample the pastries we bake at the end of our session – it’s about learning but also about team spirit. I look forward to sharing with you and your colleagues!

My Background

I grew up in the hospitality business. At 13 years of age, I decided to embrace the family tradition of baking treats. Now, I own Pastelaria Batalha, a Lisbon based bakery. We specialize in traditional Portuguese pastries and we have just won silver medal for Best Pastel de Nata in Portugal.

I am passionate about teaching pastry lovers how to make Pastel de Nata, Portugal's most iconic treat. I run a very popular Pastel de Nata Workshop at my bakery in the heart of Lisbon. We have welcomed over 1000 people from all over the world who wanted to learn how to make Pastel de Nata after falling in love with this pastry while visiting Portugal. I've baked with a couple of Michelin star chefs, but also with folks who had never even made a cake at home before - it's always different, and it's always great fun! I also do online one-on-one sessions for those into baking and who aren't able to travel to Lisbon.

I'm all about spreading the love for Pastel de Nata, so I like sharing my recipe with home-bakers and pros, no matter where in the world. I do everything step by step, so that EVERYONE can follow with easy to find ingredients and utensils. Let's bake together!

The Setup For the Virtual Session

I will run this class from the working kitchen of my bakery in Lisbon. You will be able to see all my pro equipment and have a little "behind the scenes" access, but we will bake with basic home tools so that you can follow along at home!

As a customer if you cancel 48 hours after you have booked a session with a guide you will get a 50% refund. If you cancel before the 48 hours you receive your full refund. Customers also receive full refunds whenever a guide cancels
